About me

Hi, I'm Jason Fisher, a GIS analyst currently based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin with a BS in geospatial analysis and technology. I'm very passionate about all things GIS, but with a special emphasis on work related to history, government or politics. I have significant experience with the ESRI ArcGIS suite of programs from my classes, including both ArcGIS Pro and Online.

 

In addition, I'm also very experienced working with QGIS, as well as Microsoft Excel for data cleaning and analysis. One of my strongest skills is digitization of paper maps, as well as archival work. In the future I hope to expand my skills in GIS and other geospatial technologies, in particular my programming skills.

In my spare time I have done extensive work creating historical election maps. This work often requires me to make public records requests to state and county election agencies and archives departments for maps and data, as well as significant work digitizing and/or cleaning the data to make it usable in a GIS. Many of these mapping projects are included in my portfolio.
